Making a Case for Whole Grains

Written by RD Monica Joyce: With all the gluten free hype and foods hitting the grocery shelves I was happy to see an article published online January 5, 2016 that showed that individuals who eat more whole grains were less likely to die overall, and less likely to die of heart disease.
In fact there is a 9 percent lower risk of death from heart disease for every daily serving of whole grains. So my bowl of All Bran cereal topped with fresh berries and my peanut butter sandwich on double fiber bread God lunch just might buy me some time. If nothing else they are some of my favorites.
