Fall Fruits and Vegetables

Written by RD, MS, LD, CDE Monica Joyce: Did you know that 45% of Americans don’t eat the recommended five or more daily servings of fruits and vegetables? Before you head into winter have a plan to include fresh fruits and vegetables daily.

Here’s some of the fruits and vegetables that are in season now: apples, pears, kiwi, cranberries, artichokes, avocado, beets bok choy, broccoli, cabbage. But remember most grocery stores have a large variety of fruits and vegetables so that you don’t get bored as you await summer and the bountiful variety we can feast on.
