Another Good Reason to Eat Breakfast
in Nutrabites on July 28, 2013
Funny, breakfast is the easiest and quickest meal to prepare yet most Americans don’t bother.
The American Heart Association Journal recently published a study that found that skipping breakfast increases the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). “Skipping breakfast may lead to one or more risk factors, including obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes which could lead to a heart attack over time” says Dr Leah Cahill, lead author of the Harvard School of Public Health article. When you skip breakfast you remain in a fasting state which puts a strain on your heart. Also, discovered in the study is that men who ate late at night ( after going to bed) had a 55% higher CHD risk than those that don’t. Check out Too Busy to Diet for breakfast ideas.
