Blueberries and Brains
in The Too Busy to Diet Blog on July 11, 2016
Written by Monica Joyce MS, RD, LD, CDE: Lots of good things about blueberries. First, they are in season and cheap. Just around 99 cents a pint they are a bargain.Sprinkle them on some cereal in the morning, add to some yogurt, make a smoothie or have a bowl on your desk ad nibble away. Besides low in calories, they are packed with healthful antioxidants. A study at university of Cincinnati saw improvements in memory and “access to words and concepts” subjects were provided freeze dried blueberry powder which was equivalent to a cup of berries.
