Carrie Underwood Surprises At Grand Ole Opry
Carrie Underwood made a surprise appearance at the Grand Ole Opry on 11/15/16 to offer performer, Crystal Gayle, a membership into the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Theatre in Nashville. Together Underwood and Gayle sang the song,” Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue”.
Driving home from Florida after my niece’s wedding in Amelia Island, my husband and I had the opportunity to see Underwood and Gayle sing together before Gayle was offered membership into the prestigious Grand Ole Opry.
Carrie Underwood has been a dietitian’s dream as she has committed herself to maintaining good health and fitness after her pregnancy and periods of weight gain during her early career.
Underwood won the American Idol contest in 2008 and has been striving to stay healthy ever since. When she is on the road she maintains a healthy diet and fitness routine. Underwood lost 20 pounds since she won the American Idol contest. She went from a size 6 to a toned size 2.
Her struggles with weight began as she began to travel extensively with her budding singing career. On the road she now keeps a refrigerator filled with healthy fruits and vegetables and carries other healthy snacks. She tries to avoid eating out at restaurants. Her favorite breakfast is a big bowl of high fiber oatmeal.
Underwood has been a longtime vegetarian, but switched to a vegan diet a year ago. This has made it necessary for her to more carefully watch her diet to insure she is getting what she needs with the elimination of dairy and other animal-based foods. She chooses fresh vegetables, beans, and vegan-friendly meat analogs.
Carrie also watches high sugar items and desserts. She is adamant that her diet is a lifestyle and one she is committed to following for good health and fitness.
