Chocolate lovers- what do you know about chocolate shapes?

Cadbury customers in Britain were up-in-arms last year when the company changed the shape of its chocolate. Many complained that they didn’t enjoy the taste of the product as much, but the kicker is that Cadbury says it never changed its recipe. Is it possible that shape can actually affect taste?
It might be. In a recent study conducted by the Nestle Research Centre, the participants preferred wing and sail shapes for overall flavor and liked round and rectangular shapes for texture and mouthfeel. The two latter shapes melt better in the mouth and feel smoother.
This may make sense. The shape of the new Cadbury Dairy Milk is now curved and rounder. It melts faster in the mouth and gets quickly absorbed by our taste buds compared to other shapes, which affects flavor.
