A recent study printed in the Journal of the American Medical Association states that omega-3 supplements did not slow cognitive decline in older people. Also there is no clear evidence that they protect against heart disease another reason many people use the supplement. The American Heart Association does recommend eating fish like salmon, lake trout and sardines that contain Omega-3 fatty acids at least two times a week.
The supplement world continued to remain controversial. Unfortunately purchasing supplements is often a waste of money.
