Herbal Supplements For Health or Junk Nutrition?

DNA testing on hundreds of bottles of store brand herbal supplements found three out of four contained none of the herbs on the label. In fact they were full of fillers such as beans, rice and house plants. Associated Press article in the Tribune went on to say that the GNC-brand bottles of St. John’s wort used for depression had rice, garlic and a tropical houseplant, but no herb. Walgreens. Target, Walmart and GNC were asked to immediately stop selling adulterated or mislabeled dietary supplements.
This $ 6 billion dollar business is exempt from the FDA’s approval process. So save your money and avoid this junk nutrition.
