My Cell Phone and Me
in The Too Busy to Diet Blog on February 23, 2017
When we think about losing weight we think diet and exercise. Yet, perhaps a missing ingredient on a weight journey is your cell phone.
A recent study with adults who were overweight and obese participating in a mobile phone based weight loss intervention were more likely to achieve meaningful weight loss when intervention included personalized contact according to researchers at U of South Wales, Sidney.
I am not surprised since I have found over the years coaching overweight patents with regular emails or texting can provide not only accountability, but allows me to address the problem or behavior as it happens. These interactions are meaningful and increase the chances of success. Next time you decide to lose weight you might want to find a registered dietitian willing to use texts/calls in-between visits.
