National Nutriton Month
in The Too Busy to Diet Blog on February 25, 2015
Written by Claire Allen, Candidate for Masters in Nutrition at The University of Illinois at Chicago. This March is National Nutrition Month, and the theme is “Bite into a Healthy Lifestyle.” There are many events occurring in the city throughout the whole month to celebrate nutrition and how it can improve your lifestyle. This Sunday, March 1st, I will be co-hosting a booth with my fellow Chicago Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (CAND) members at the Logan Square Indoor Farmers Market from 9 AM- 3 PM. Please feel free to stop by and support the local farmers and other vendors! In addition, CAND will be hosting a “family fit night” Thursday, March 26th from 5:30-8:00 PM at the Edison Park Elementary School in Chicago. This is an annual event designed to promote the importance of healthy eating and physical activity, not only for kids, but for everyone in the family. Finally, CAND members will be participating in the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle race held in Grant Park in Chicago on Sunday March 29th. Help support National Nutrition Month by participating in one of these events in Chicago this March.
