Slow and Steady wins the Race

Written by RD, MS, CDE Monica Joyce: I am constantly asked or am reading about natural or herbal weight-loss supplements. I wish they would all simply go away since they are not required to be regulated and usually are not safe and almost always not effective.

I recently talked with a client who has lost 100 lbs and kept it off for several years. No tricks, no magic, no gimmicks. Her strategy was to tackle it 5 lbs at a time and keep chipping away. She reduced portions, stopped late night eating and walked 30 minutes or more daily. She weighed regularly and rather than a weight gain undermine get efforts she became more determined.
Simple changes and a stick with it approach paid off. Cheaper than all the over the counter junk.
