Take Your Workout Outdoors

in The Too Busy to Diet Blog on May 30, 2017

If you have spent the winter exercising indoors or are thinking about starting an exercise program you might want to consider heading outside.

IMG_0613 Research supports the benefits of spending time outdoors being active that include anything from calming your mind, restarting your body clock and boosting your immune system. In fact, those who exercise outdoors tend to stick with their program longer than those who exercise in a gym. A study in Scientific Reports found that people were more motivated to exercise and those that visited green spaces at least once a week for about 30 minutes worked out more often that those who spend less time outside.

Spring/ early summer is a great time to try out an exercise program outside. It can be as simple as walking the dog or taking a bike ride. Whatever you choose we are sure you’ll reap the benefits.
