Think Before You Eat
in The Too Busy to Diet Blog on August 9, 2015
Written by RD Monica Joyce: Do you know that what we choose to eat is offer driven by pleasure rather than a need for calories? The constant presence and availability of high calorie foods is one of the reasons. Food in America is here, there and everywhere. This “hedonic hunger” is similar to hedonic driven activities people engage in like drugs and gambling, This drive can play a big role in unwanted weight gain and the difficulty some experience in losing weight. So stop and think before you eat. Ask yourself a few questions: Am I really hungry? Is this a good time to eat? When did I last eat and when am I planning to eat again? Stopping and thinking may mean you avoid unnecessary calories and could make the difference in what you weigh.
